Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Overview
Wishlist Galore uses a small number of cookies and local storage entries to provide its collaborative wishlist service. This policy lists every tracking mechanism our app sets, why it exists, and how long it persists. For information about how we handle your personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Storage We Use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
wlg_anon | Cookie | Identifies anonymous (guest) shoppers. Enables wishlist persistence across sessions for users who are not logged in. | 365 days from creation. Replaced on each visit if the previous token is invalid. |
_shopify_s | Cookie | Shopify session cookie. Set by the Shopify platform to manage the visitor session on the merchant store. | Session (deleted when the browser closes). |
_shopify_y | Cookie | Shopify year-long analytics cookie. Set by the Shopify platform for storefront analytics and conversion tracking. | Approximately 1 year. |
wlg.guest.items | localStorage | Stores product IDs that a guest shopper has added to their wishlist, enabling offline/optimistic UI updates before the server confirms the action. | Cleared on guest-to-logged-in merge. Otherwise persists until manual browser data clearing. |
wishlist_guest_items | localStorage | Temporary staging of guest wishlist item IDs during the guest-to-logged-in merge process. Written by the merge-on-login script. | Deleted immediately after a successful merge to the server. |
How to Manage or Delete These Entries
You can view, edit, or delete cookies and local storage entries through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. Removing wlg_anon or wlg.guest.items will cause the app to create a new anonymous identity on your next visit; your previous wishlists will remain on the server but will no longer be associated with your browser.
Third-Party Cookies
Wishlist Galore does not set any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Shopify's own session cookies (_shopify_s, _shopify_y) are set by the Shopify platform and are outside our control. Consult Shopify's cookie policy for details on those cookies.
